just another manic tuesday

Okie dok, so yesterday I started pretty late on running my errands, but I eventually got everything accomplished except blogging!

It's Tuesday at 1PM and I'm worn out already. I'm still working on these horarios that i've been working on for the past week, and my brain hurts from looking at them all. ha! Good news is i'm almost done -woo hoo! As soon as i get this little project out of the way, i can start doing more fun stuff.

An example of fun stuff would be a scrapbook activity i did last night with the teenage girls of the orphanage. My thank you gift to the kids is buying the materials and printing the pictures for all of them and spending one night with them before i leave to scrapbook! I printed black and white paper copies of photos that other vols and myself had taken of the girls and gave them along with stickers, papers, and the fun stuff that comes with scrapbooking to the girls. It went really well and i had a good time. The first volunteers that gave these scrapbooks as gifts to the kids were super smart in thinking about giving the kids something useful and creative in which to save their childhood memories. I take for granted that my parents have boocoodles of pictures of me and albums to hold them and present them neatly. It's nice looking back through the pictures and remembering which occasion the photo was taken. Now the kids here get to do the same! The bonus about this activity is i can log it as a Peace Corps activity that has helped teach kids creativity and self esteem!

So, after these horarios are done, I'll be able to focus all my attention on having more fun with the scrapbooking. I'm excited!

Oh and I would load pics up of the activity except that my laptop finally crashed. After seven long years of streneous use through university and work here with Peace Corps, two very important, but suprsingly tiny, pieces inside my laptop burned out. I can't even turn on the thing! The laptop guy says if he find the pieces, he can replace them and it get it started again. My plan is to sell the laptop to anyone who wants to deal with the headache of repairing it and getting it up and running again. I would like to say it wasn't Peace Corps Bolivia that ran down my laptop and put extra "stress" on my it, but i think the hardcoreness of ALL THE AMAZING work i've done on the thing really tired it out. seriously, the lesson plans i've written on that thing would blow your minds!

So i ask a favor of my fellow readers to please not complain about no pictures and day late blogs, i'm making the best of what i have -which is a super old pc at the orphanage that's slower than a grandma sloth on her last day. until next time!
