If you haven't already noticed, the layout of my page is a little different. After looking at it for a while I feel like this layout was made to post recipes or insightful entries about saving the planet. Unfortunately, none of my entries are included in these two categories, so I'm going to make the best of this nice new layout. hehe!
I finally finished those horarios! Woo-hoo! I'm now working on a small phamplet about Villa Amistad in English and Spanish. For those of you just tuning in Villa Amistad is the name of the orphanage where I work. If you want to take a look at their website it is http://www.amistadmission.org/ The website is a bit outdated, but they're working to update everything this month, i think. So, for the next week or so, I'm going to try and finish up this pamphlet.
My scrapbook activities are going great still. I made scrapbook pages last night with one of the casitas (little houses) of the Villa and they liked the glitter I brought. We all know how much kids LOVE glitter. I'm not considered a kid to most ppl anymore and I still love glitter! So, needless to say, their house will be covered in glitter for the next couple of days! hehe!
I've also started another activity in which I teach the moms and older kids of the houses how to cook a simple Asian style stir fry meal. It brings something new to everyone's pallets and gets them involved with choppping, cutting, stirring, and all those wonderful verbs associated with cooking. So far, I've cooked with two casitas and the white rice hasn't turned out exaclty how I like it, so tonight I'm going to try cooking the rice in a pressure cooker instead of just a normal pot. The grain of rice sold in Bolivia isn't anywhere nearly as tasty as the Thai rice i'm used to eating with my family, but the kids don't know the difference! Also, the brownie recipe I teach them is so tasty, they forget about the rice. haha!
p.s. in just FIVE short weeks, if all goes well, I will finish my PC service and start my after service vacation!!! woo-hoo!!!
