Missed Again

I apologize for being a day late on this entry -I've been busy.

So, yesterday I had an hour and a half long meeting with the new coordinator and the educational team of the orphanage. We talked about my schedule and my availability to help out with the kids and the integrated education program. I left myself open for any type of help every Tues, Wed, and Thurs, 9:00-18:00. So, we talked about how to fill up my time. Here were a few suggestions:
-collaborating with a new person that is interested in starting a recycling and organic compost program
-homework/tutoring
-colloaborate with a new person for teamwork, self-esteem, leadership, and communication activities for kids ages 3-13
-enlgish classes
-miniclasses about business and its entities (i.e. accounting, marketing, selling, buying, etc.)

So, my day was filled with just that! I had help the first two hours of my day b/c another volunteer, kudos to Sarah, came out and gave email classes. (she help set up accounts for those who didn't have them and taught some of them how to add pics to the message, etc.) After that it was Eng. class with the montessori kids, lunch for an hour and a half (which included a lot of talking with the kids at the table about their ongoings), Eng. class with the teenage boys for an hour, then tutoring two girls for an hour, and then another email class for an hour. And that my friends, was my day. Phew!!!

So, here i am relaxing a bit! I'm having a good time even though I'm a bit busier nowadays, and even though not all of my projects are sustainable, I keep telling myself that these kids will at least know how to read, write, work in teams, and say "hello" a lot better than before i came along! Ha!
