So, after buying my car, the next on my agenda is finding a place to live. This hunt has kept me busy for the past two weeks. As much as I've heard that Seattle is a city that welcomes dogs, it hasn't been proven true by all the declines from apartments and homes that I've seen. The general responses have been "you sound like a great fit for the housemates, BUT our landlord doesn't allow pets." I've received over 20 rejection emails telling me this. It makes me think long and hard about ever receiving a pet as a gift ever again. I miss my dog and I can't wait till we're reunited again, but it has been incredibly stressful finding a place to accommodate my dog and me.
anyhoo, the job hunt has been put on a halt until I find a place to live. It's been a full time job just looking for an apartment! haha!
In other news, before I left my home state of TN. My friend, Katie and I went to the Jack Daniels distillery and saw how the famous Jack Daniels whiskey is made. Here are a few pictures!
We learned that Mr. Jack .D was only five feet two inches tall (my height) and decided to build the distillery in Lynchburg, TN b/c the water coming from the nearby cave had a special quality for making tasty whiskey. You can see the cave in the picture where Katie and I are standing with JD's statue. Another fun fact is Lynchburg is a dry town, so no alcohol is served anywhere!
