trapped!

I'd like to start this entry with an apology at how boring it is! ha! If I were you, I'd just skip this one, it's definitely not my best and has potential to being my worst! haha!

Today I have felt the full effects of living in America. You're probably asking, "How is that karen?" Well, i'm sitting in my parent's beautiful home without a car, nowhere near a public transportation stop and only a bicycle to get me to the nearest grocery store. Luckily for me, I have functioning legs and could ride my bike in the very chilly weather and pick up something to eat if i wanted, oh yeah, and no job where i need to be. Being slightly trapped in this house has reminded me of the super convenience of metro systems, public taxi routes, public minivan routes, and tacky painted school buses of Bolivia and other cities, American and foreign, I've visited recently that got me from one end of the city to the other. My part of town doesn't offer such conveniences.

Anyhoo, the perk to being here without a car is I'm forced to look for a job more intensely and no excuse of leaving the house to distract myself. HA! (sigh) so far, I've found a few more at a university, a medical supplies company, and the Nintendo corporation. The last one sounds super funsies, but the last time I played a nintendo game was when duck hunt was the most popular thing to talk about in school the next day. and when i say school, i mean elementary school. haha! I've been working on my resume and it's coming along nicely. of course my cousin told me the other day that she wouldn't hire me just by looking at it, so that could mean i'm just looking too much on the bright side of things. She gave some good suggestions so I put her words to good use and changed some things, i think it looks better.
