I didn't go anywhere special for Christmas so I decided to go out of Bolivia for the New Year. I'm in Salta, Argentina and it is absolutely gorgeous down here. We entered the country by crossing the border by bus in the town of Yacuiba, Bolivia and lemme tell you, the five hour wait to get our passports stamped was well worth the wait to arrive in this beautiful city.
I didn't do much research before coming down here, but so far things are working out great. We found a decent hostel, "Corre Caminos" for about 20 Pesos/night and we're pretty close to the nightlife area. Last night we didn't get the great Argentinian steak dinner we were expecting so we're going to try again tonight to celebrate the New Year.
I bought new shoes, wedge heel - open toed style that is super popular down here. Industria Argentina for $94 Pesos which is about $30 USD. I beleive the exchange rate is somewhere near $3.51 Pesos to $1USD. The exchange isn't as good as Bolivianos to Dollars, but better than the actual!
