Yep, I was enjoying myself at Golden Gardens Park playing beach volleyball with some new acquaintances and my backpack was taken. It had my wallet, my digital camera, my ipod, my car keys, some clothes, my cell phones, and my housemate's belongings. It was such a bummer to look over and not see my things anymore.
Fortunately, I was able to cancel my cards, and phone services right away. No charges were made to my accounts. We filed a police report, but I don't expect to see my things again. So I won't have as many pictures posted for a little while. I plan on borrowing digital cameras from friends until I find a job and can afford to buy another one.
My phone numbers are still the same so don't worry about changing anything in your cell phones.
Moral of the story here, watch your stuff at the beach! Strap it to the volleyball pole! haha!
p.s. this thought occurred to us AFTERwards, we should've called our cell phones that were still in the backpacks and listened for them to ring and we would've ousted the culprits! also, my housemate had an inkling of which guys took our stuff, we should've just accused them outright and waited for their reaction to determine their innocence. It turns out after looking at video footage from the nearby Target store where they used his card, his suspicions were valid. ALWAYS follow your gut!
