To celebrate our country’s freedom, we down here in Bolivia decided to throw a ‘MERECA party in true American style. Geoff, a volunteer in the Santa Cruz department of Bolivia graciously invited us to his humble town to liven things up for the 4th. We did our country proud by dressing in our wonderful colors of red, white, and blue. We also ate a delicious stuffed pig, had fireworks, drank lots of Bolivian beer (almost 300 liters), and the next morning had a little bit of rubbing alcohol, sugar, and instant coffee mixed in with milk straight from the cow’s teet (drink known as ambrosia). Yummy!
These are pics of an example of our stylish outfits and of course me with silly Ross. Oh and Kallen showing her roping skills with James, on his hands and knees, acting as a small sheep! I had a great time and never felt more proud to be an American.
