A little late

So, to comment on a comment left on my last entry.

No, I didn't participate in sex-ed classes since kindergarten. However, when i think about it, it would've been pretty funny i'm sure. I also wonder if talking about sex at such an early age would spark my curiosity and make me more prone to wanting to have sex at an earlier age or vice versa hmm....

Also, no i haven't been affected by the flooding, thank goodness. However my fellow volunteers that live a rural areas were affected and either got stuck in their sites for a few days or couldn't get into their sites for a few days. As far as i know, everyone is safe and happy in their communities.

Now onto my entry.
I didn't blog this monday due to a really bad press release about

PC in the Bolivian newspapers accusing volunteers being spies. Here is the article. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4262036&page=1

Anyway, administration was concerned for our safety that once the story got out to the locals they would believe the news story and "turn" on us or something strangely similar. Apparently the embassy guy who started all this mess got fired, thankfully, and now PC Bolivia is in the works of clarifying this terrible mix up that could possibly jeopardize US relations with Cubans that work in various parts of Bolivia and Bolivian citizens. I really wish this Fulbright Scholar would've thought to not to mention PC volunteers in his statement, i guess he doesn't realize that some of us live in communities with Cubans that could've been seriously offended after reading this article. What a crazy mess this is. Oh well, he got his 15 min. of fame and will probably see the effects soon enough.

On other news, I'd thought I'd give ya'll a closer look at to what my daily life includes. Here are two pictures of an example of a mode of transportation called a taxi-truffi that I take everyday to get to work. I don't even want to guess the year on the make of this car. The sign signifies the route and we pile in these things everyday. Three in the back and two in the front passenger seat. Funsies!!! haha!!! These are fairly safe and thanks to you all, your prayers keep from getting into an awful wreck EVERYTIME i climb into a vehicle such as this one. The advantages to this mode of transportation is they're usually full (carpooling helps the environment, right?), these routes give people jobs, it gives me ( a person w/o a car) a means of getting from point A to point B, and it helps keep the world i live in spinning. haha!!!

So, the next time you step into your car think about how you're saving the ozone layer.
