English anyone?

I've been reading a lot lately. Not just because it's something to do, but because there is an awesome selection of books for us in the main office!

However, i've run into difficulty with the vocab contained in some of the ones of i've read. For example in Life of Pi i didn't know 41 words!!! (gasp!!!) I felt pretty stupid after making the tally, one for making a tally of how many words i didn't know, and two, the final tally amount. Honestly, who uses words like insouciant, carapace, and porosity in daily conversation, I don't. By the way this book was awesome, a lot of volunteers disagree with me, but i really enjoyed it. If you get a chance, check it out at your local library and give it a go. (boy did that sound cheezy)

So, to my point, learning Spanish vocab has been difficult enough and then to add learning English vocab to my hobby apart from learning Spanish, it has become almost too much. No worries though, i'm still reading and maybe when i get back to the states i'll use words like maurauding in everyday conversations.

p.s. Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck really good, too.
